BASICS

  • - The course consists of 14 meetings.
  • We will meet once a week in a small group.
  • Participants will each meeting pripravovať načítaním kapitoly z knihy Karola Wojtylu Láska a zodpovednosť. K tomu dostanú pracovné listy, ktoré im počas štúdia pomôžu zamerať sa na tie najdôležitejšie otázky.
  • Each session will have a theme and special questions for discussion. Together we will seek answers to the fundamental questions of the human heart as captured by Karol Wojtyla.
  • In the case of several participants from the Košice area, several meetings will be held in a face-to-face format.

CIELE KURZU:

  • Through the study of the book Love and Responsibility, we want to help people find answers to their deep questions: What is Love? What is the meaning and beauty of my sexuality? Is it possible to live purely even in this day and age?
  • By studying together the original text of Love and Responsibility, we want to help each other understand the difficult parts of the text and seek concrete ways to apply what Karol Wojtyla wrote to our lives.
  • Develop presentation skills, the ability to work with text and think critically, the ability to communicate argue and discuss, the ability to navigate current issues and find connections between them.

ABOUT THE BOOK LOVE AND RESPONSIBILITY:

Karol Wojtyla began to think more deeply about the themes of marital love and sexuality through many conversations with students and friends whom he accompanied spiritually as a school chaplain. In the school year 1956/1957 and a year later, he taught a course in ethics called Love and Responsibility at the Catholic University of Lublin. He eventually elaborated his remarks and published them in a book under the same title in 1960.

‘WHAT DOES TRUE LOVE LOOK LIKE?’

Do you want to know the truth about love, the meaning of life, relationships, chastity and your vocation?

Do you want to live your sexuality more fully? To see sexuality as good?

Are you wondering how to experience chastity in relationships - whether as a youth, an elder, in marriage, divorced, while dating, consecrated, or as a priest?

Are you looking for a good resource for the formation of yourself and others?

Are you drawn by Karol Wojtyła's great work Love and Responsibility, but find the text itself too difficult to read on your own?

Feedback from our students

What specifically has this seminar brought to my personal life?

***

I began to work on myself in order to become more virtuous person. I used the time of Lent to work on my meekness. I try to look for the intrinsic value in each person and apply ‘love and don't exploit’.

***

Deepening and purifying the view of the origin and course of love between a man and a woman.

***

A consciousness of greater responsibility for love.

***

What in particular appealed to me at the seminar?

***

I have received a different, new perspective on love. Also an enriching discussion of what others thought of when reading and I didn't; and a very vital communion.

***

What appealed to me was that we were able to talk openly about relationships based on JP II, and that it wasn't just about voicing someone's opinion on the subject, but the book served as a guide and a measure of truth for us.

***

A complete and coherent reading of one book and discussion of it.

***

Openness and commitment of mentory, community and shared examination of the subject.

***

We look forward to meeting you!
