"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide; so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you." (John 15:16)

MIKULÁŠSKO-VIANOČNÁ ZBIERKA pre chudobných na Ukrajine

.

Pomôžte nám prinášať radosť deťom a ľuďom v núdzi!

Vďaka pravidelnej alebo jednorazovej finančnej pomoci mnohých z vás môžeme dnes vypomáhať každý mesiac približne 18 gréckokatolíckym kňazom s rodinami plus približne 20 rodinám a jednotlivcom v núdzi.

Vyprosujeme vám veľa šťastia i zdravia!

Otcovia biskupi a kňazi, ktorým pravidelne zasielame vaše omšové milodary a ktorí ich prerozdeľujú ostatným, vždy reagujú s veľkou vďačnosťou.

  3. Pravidelnou MODLITBOU

Čím viac bude otvorených sŕdc a rúk ochotných pomáhať, tým viac vďačnosti, radosti a nádeje môžeme spoločnými silami prinášať druhým.

Poďme teda prinášať úsmev a nádej druhým!

Vďaka Bohu i Panne Márii.

Pozdrav vďačnosti from Ukraine

"Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful." (Lk 6, 36)

Helping the poor bears much fruit. We want to share with you some news of our common partaking in God's mercy within the mission in Ukraine.

Your financial help and prayers have filled the hearts of many people who are really struggling financially today with great hope and gratitude. In particular, we are experiencing that God is truly a "Merciful Father" and wants to lovingly care for His children through each one of us.

From the testimonies of our friends who are helping us in Ukraine, we have learned that some grandmothers had tears in their eyes when they received a month's worth of groceries. They were so touched and asked who they should pray for. Many grandmothers and grandfathers in Ukraine today live abandoned, forgotten, in very bad conditions indeed, and their entire pension, which is, on average, around 50Eur per month, goes towards paying for heating, electricity, and gas, so there is not much left for food. A few kind words and concrete help from - literally - strangers are seen by many of them as proof that God has not forgotten them.

Our help was received with deep gratitude also by a young poor woman who truly gives her life to helping others. She herself lives in one room in a house where she could not afford to turn on the heating during the winter because she would not survive on the salary she receives as a nurse's assistant in the hospital (110Eur/month). So, in the evening, she used to pour hot water into a bottle to fall asleep with so that she wouldn't freeze.

In addition to one-time help - either financial or by buying larger amounts of non-perishable food for poor old men and women, abandoned, sick people - regular help is going to be offered gradually.

Since the beginning of 2021, thanks to many of you who have started sending the Holy Mass intentions or making also a regular financial contribution to the MŠKW account for Ukraine, we have been able to support approximately 20 poor families each month (families with many children, priests taking care of abandoned children, families of Greek Catholic priests, families having a child with a disability, single mothers, abandoned, sick people, old ladies).

All these people send you their greetings with profound gratitude and pray for you and your families. Our two father bishops with whom we work also send their blessings and prayers to you from their hearts with thanksgiving! "It's really beautiful to know that someone cares about us. Your help for our priests is really great!"... "I assure you of our prayers for you!" (from father bishop Dmitry's email). Father bishop Josaphat, too, goes regularly to pray in in thanksgiving before the Miraculous Icon of the Virgin Mary and asks for all the necessary graces for you - benefactors and co-workers.

We trust that God will continue to guide this work and that each one of us, by helping in whatever way we can, will become a part of the great plan of God's mercy!

Thank you, friends! Thank you for not closing your eyes to the needs of others!

May the streams of God's mercy mightily stream into your hearts, relationships and families!

Due to the global pandemic situation, we too had to cancel mission trips to Ukraine. However, we are in constant contact with our friends there and, through them, we are trying to bring help to all those in need.

The current situation in Ukraine is quite difficult. Many people have lost their jobs and thus their livelihoods because of the pandemic. The social system there, unfortunately, does not function as it does in other countries, so people literally have but a few pennies per month to live on. The number of poor people keeps growing. Priests, too, who depend on the charity of the faithful (for example, through Holy Mass donations), are now in a difficult situation.

With your help, we have managed to create several "islands of aid" in various places in Ukraine (near the cities of Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Buchach, Ternopil, Lutsk, Chernivtsi, Kharkiv, and others). We regularly allocate your financial gifts and contributions and send them to our friends, priests, and bishops, who then distribute them as needed to people who are poor, sick, needy or old, orphans, single mothers, large families, or destitute. Specific assistance is provided in the form of purchases and distribution of necessary food, everyday consumer goods, and medicines, or financial contributions for food, housing, health care, health treatment, or urgent household repairs (e.g. malfunctioning of water supply, electricity, flood damage or other essential services).

Many of you are asking us to celebrate Holy Masses (liturgies) in Ukraine (including Gregorian). This form of support is increasingly proving to be a great way by which to help priests and religious communities in this country and, through them, others in need. THANK YOU!

In those places in Ukraine where we have traveled together, many newborn children end up in children's homes for various reasons: they cannot be cared for by their biological parents or the extended family. For many years, the heart’s desire of one of our long-term collaborators who is a priest was to build an orphanage where every child would be welcomed as God's gift. In 2017, with God's help, he began building the House of Mercy with the Church of St. Nicholas. It is heartening to see how this work progresses, despite various difficulties, thanks to the support of benefactors. The home is literally emerging from ruins. A few months ago, the foundation stone of the Church of St. Nicholas was blessed and placed, to remain next to the orphanage as a sign that the Heavenly Father is still with the children, that He cares for them, and that He will never leave them. Every week, directly on the construction site, before the Cross and the icon of St. Nicholas, prayers are said for all the benefactors and supporters of this work, and for all children and fellow workers.

Thanks be to God for all of you who have already supported or will support this work! It is marvelous work and we believe that it can become a home and a source of hope and joy for many children! (It will still take a considerable amount of money to complete it, but we believe that God will continue to provide and this project will reach completion soon.

We will indeed be very grateful for all your support in this mission to help the people of Ukraine.

The Holy Apostle Paul says: At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need (2 Cor 8:14).

WHOM have we HELPED together with you?

Only brotherly love can cause that the one having something does not close in himself egoistically and the one who is poor does not feel humiliated in his need. (John Paul II)

... and to many others whom God himself knows and who pray for you, benefactors, with thanksgiving...

"Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." (Mt 25:40)

Thanks to your generous heart, we can contribute together to alleviating human misery that is not only spiritual and moral but also material, … which is also one of the main goals of our School of Mission.

We believe that once the pandemic ends, we will be able to resume our mission trips to Ukraine, and together with you and our friends and fellow workers we will again bring aid and organize Theology of the Body spiritual retreats, and not only for young people :).

THANK YOU for any support!

May God act powerfully in your lives, too!

HOW can I help?

PRAYER

We would like to kindly ask you for intense prayers in support of this "created small project". In particular, we ask for prayers for the protection of all the people whom God wants to help through us. And also for our co-workers in Ukraine: may the Virgin Mary protect them with her cloak from every evil, disease, or sin, and that they may continue to listen to God's voice at all times. Please, pray that all the aid going through them reaches those who really need it most. Our partners in Ukraine are our friends with whom we have previously worked on various Theology of the Body projects, e.g. spiritual retreats, seminars, and the like. There are lay people, priests, families, and religious orders among them. In recent years, the Lord has brought us together and we made friends through the teachings of St. John Paul II and the Virgin Mary. Thanks to their strong intercession, all of us are now able to act together and ask God for the necessary graces for one another and for the whole world. THANK YOU!
