Let's bring hope to people in need!
Dear friends,
Our traditional Saint Nicholas - Christmas collection for Ukraine has a special character this year. As a result of the ongoing war, there are more people in Ukraine who need hope and a helping hand. Those who remain in their country, mostly elderly, lonely, disabled, or sick people, are more and more faced with the reality that they do not have the means to provide basic life needs, including medicines.
Unfortunately, we cannot help everyone. However, with your continued support we would like to consolidate and strengthen the aide systems we have established over the last few years (even before the war). This support through the administration by our long-term collaborators who reside in Ukraine literally "transform" our financial contributions with their whole hearts and lives into concrete help and concrete hope - they buy and bring basic food, drugstore items and necessary medicines to poor people, or contribute to lonely or old people to pay for utilities when they are in danger of being completely cut off from energies.
"Through your gift, God shows me his presence, that he is close. His hands are your hands! Thanks to each of you." (Lonely elderly lady) And just like our co-workers, each one of us has our special place in this mission - each according to our possibilities, gifts, and abilities. Together, we can really help those who feel forgotten and unneeded. Let's be sure that every single DONATION will be received with gratitude and bring a smile to someone's face, and especially HOPE! And even more! We ourselves will be gifted with the knowledge and feeling that our gift is also needed, that it really brought someone joy and the desire to continue living. With the desire to lend a helping hand to those who need us now Jana Prudká PS: We also accept larger one-time donations from legal entities :) THANK YOU! There is a possibility to transfer your single or regular donations:
The goal of this collection is to create an aid package for the whole year so that we have a specific amount for each month that we can send to Ukraine. Such a regular amount will in a way be a certain "certainty" in the long term and will help our collaborators to more systematically secure and distribute aid directly on the spot.
What exactly will our contributions be used for?
This time we would like to donate part of the donations in the form of a regular financial contribution (50/100/150 EUR per month) to our colleagues in Ukraine. Many of them have performed this service selflessly until now, and when we occasionally sent them a gift (reward), they immediately shared it with the poor. Unfortunately, as a result of the war, they and their families are now in difficult living conditions. We would like to remember them together with you. After all, they are the ones who meet the poor people and really, in addition to material help, they also bring them caresses, encouragement and new hope.

Let us give meaning to our lives by becoming a gift to others!
Let us regularly donate a few Euros for a living to those who do not have it now!
Let us regularly donate a few Euros for a living to those who do not have it now!
and with gratitude for each one of your gifts,

„To me is your help an appealing wonder and a feeling of joy that there are people in Slovakia who make this world better by their small deeds and for who is very important to act with compassion toward those in need... I would express more exactly about those who help us by words of one saint: The clock of history has struck time when it is necessary not to talk about Christ, but to become Christ, to become his heart and his hands in this world that needs so much mercy.…
We also have become acquainted with a poor lady living in very poor conditions in the countryside. She had to ask for drinking water from neighbors or come to draw from a stream far from her home. She washed her clothes in rainwater that she carefully collected. We managed to ensure access to water to her house thanks to the willingness of our cooperators. We would like to help with a reconstruction of her bathroom and with the purchase of sinks for her bathroom. We hope to help her in this way in spring.

From the testimonies of our friends who are helping us in Ukraine, we have learned that some grandmothers had tears in their eyes when they received a month's worth of groceries. They were so touched and asked who they should pray for. Many grandmothers and grandfathers in Ukraine today live abandoned, forgotten, in very bad conditions indeed, and their entire pension, which is, on average, around 50Eur per month, goes towards paying for heating, electricity, and gas, so there is not much left for food. A few kind words and concrete help from - literally - strangers are seen by many of them as proof that God has not forgotten them.
In addition to one-time help - either financial or by buying larger amounts of non-perishable food for poor old men and women, abandoned, sick people - regular help is going to be offered gradually.
All these people send you their greetings with profound gratitude and pray for you and your families. Our two father bishops with whom we work also send their blessings and prayers to you from their hearts with thanksgiving! "It's really beautiful to know that someone cares about us. Your help for our priests is really great!"... "I assure you of our prayers for you!" (from father bishop Dmitry's email). Father bishop Josaphat, too, goes regularly to pray in in thanksgiving before the Miraculous Icon of the Virgin Mary and asks for all the necessary graces for you - benefactors and co-workers.
