Christmas, presents, laughter, joy, hugs, warmth. At the moment, in Ukraine, where there is war and homes are being destroyed, hope is disappearing. In this maelstrom of events, children whose fathers died in the war, lonely grandparents, people in need need need a miracle. They long for someone to visit them, to smile at them, to embrace them, to give them support and a helping hand.
This year, 2023, St. Nicholas is here, Christmas is coming, the sky covers the whole earth with snow and the stars are shining. People are bundling up, hanging wreaths, preparing presents and wrapping them in Christmas gift paper. Children write letters to St Nicholas.Dear St. Nicoulas," writes an eight year old Maxim, "I really want you to give me candy, a board game, fruit, a backpack, and a sweatsuit. Dear Nicholas, you are so close to Jesus, please ask him for my mother, so that she will not cry and be sad at night, so that she will be happy, so that there will be peace in Ukraine! Thank you, dear Nicholas."Little Maxim put the letter in an envelope and put it on the window, because he knows that St. Nicholas comes at night to take away all the children's letters.
Grandmother Hana took a rosary in her hand and began to pray:Father, I pray to you so much that this Christmas we all feel your love and that you give everyone your peace, that the war ends, that people, boys and fathers do not die. Thank you, Jesus, and I ask you for all the benefactors of the Karol Wojtyla Missionary School who help with open palms and through them you come to us."“
And so many children and many human hearts write letters in their hearts and send them to little Jesus. That is the miracle when you know that someone needs you. And that Jesus Himself comes in the form of little Jesus to you, to your life, to your heart, and He has a gift for everyone. 🎁(Our co-worker Tanya from Ukraine)
